Editing Your Church Website

Learn how to open the website editor, use the toolbar, save versions, and publish changes.

Your church's website is the first thing many visitors see. The website editor lets you change what's on your site — update text, swap photos, rearrange your team, and more — all without any technical skills.

Opening the Editor

There are two ways to start editing. Watch the video below to see the quickest route from the admin dashboard.

From the Admin Dashboard

In your , look for Edit Website in the under the Config section. Click it to open your website with the editing toolbar visible.
Click Edit Website in the sidebar — the toolbar appears at the top

From your live website

Visit your church's website and open the menu (the button in the top-right corner). Under Manage, click Edit Website.

Note

Only admins with the Edit Website can see the editing controls. If you don't see the option, ask your church's admin to update your .

The Editing Toolbar

When the editor is open, a floating toolbar appears at the top of the page. Here's what each button does — watch the cursor move across each one:

Saving and Publishing

The editor lets you save your work without making it visible to visitors. When you're ready, publish to make it live. Both options are in the Save button.

Click Save to open the menu — choose Save to store privately or Publish to go live

Save your changes

Click the Save button in the toolbar. A menu appears with two options — choose Save to store your changes privately. Visitors still see the previously published version.

Publish your changes

When you're happy with how things look, click Save and choose Publish. Your changes go live immediately.

Tip

The Save button shows a pulsing dot when you have unsaved changes. You can also choose Discard changes from the menu to revert to the last saved version.

Version History

Every time you save or publish, a new version is created. Click the History button in the toolbar to browse all previous versions. You can load any version to preview it, then save or publish from there.

Tip

The currently published version is marked with a green LIVE badge in the version history so you always know what visitors are seeing.

Permissions

Editing the website requires the website.edit . By default, organization admins and owners have this permission. To let other team members edit the website, add this permission to their .
