How to RSVP for Events

Signing up for an event takes about a minute. Open the event on the church’s website and click Register on the card that says Registration is open.

If you are already signed in

The form is three steps, and your details are already filled in.

Check your details

The first step shows you, and anyone else in your family the church already knows about. Tap a name to correct anything that has changed.

Say how many are coming

How many are attending? is the total including you — so you and your husband is 2. If you would also like to help out, tick I’ll also help volunteer.

Confirm

The last step shows everything back to you, with a total if the event charges. Choose Confirm registration. You will see You’re registered and get a confirmation email — keep it, some events use it at the door.

If you do not have an account

You can still sign up. The form starts by asking for your email address and confirming it is really you.

Enter your email

There is no password. The church emails you a six-digit code.

Type the code back in

Enter the code to carry on. If it does not arrive within a minute or two, check your spam folder, and prefer a personal address over a work one — work systems often block outside mail.

Finish the same three steps

From there the form is identical: your details, how many are coming, and a confirmation.

Note

Your progress is saved as you go, so you can close the page and come back to it later using the link the church emails you.

Tip

Creating an account with the same email address makes everything after this easier: your details fill themselves in next time, and you can change or cancel your own registration without asking anyone.

After you register

Go back to the event page any time and the card reads You’re registered, with how many you are bringing and buttons to Edit registration or Cancel registration. Changing your guest count really does help — food and seating are planned from that total. See Change or cancel your event RSVP.

When you cannot register

If the card says Registration closed instead, the reason is printed underneath it — usually that the deadline has passed or the event has already happened. Nothing on your side fixes that; contact the church if you think it is wrong.

Note

A full event is different. The card says This event is full and the button becomes Join the waitlist. Put your name down and the church will let you know if a spot opens up — nothing moves you off the waitlist automatically, so someone there has to promote you.

Some events also have age or grade limits, and some send you to another organisation’s website to sign up — in that case the button takes you there and the church cannot see your booking, so keep whatever confirmation that site gives you.

Volunteering instead

Where a church wants help, the event page carries a separate I want to volunteer link beside the register button. You can volunteer without signing anyone up to attend. Someone at the church approves volunteers, so expect a short wait before you hear back.
