VBS Custom Fields

Add custom registration fields organized in tabs to collect additional information from families during VBS signup.

Custom fields let you collect any additional information you need during VBS registration. Fields are organized into tabs that appear as separate steps in the registration wizard. Access custom fields from the Settings section in your VBS admin .

Custom fields are organized into tabs — add new tabs or copy from a previous event

Creating Tabs

1

Add a new tab

Click Add Tab to create a new registration section. Each tab becomes its own step in the registration wizard that families see when signing up.
2

Name the tab

Enter a descriptive name for the tab (e.g., "Medical Information", "Emergency Contacts"). Families will see this name as the step title during registration.
3

Reorder tabs

Drag tabs using the grip handle to change the order they appear in the registration wizard.

Adding Fields

1

Open a tab and add a field

Expand a tab by clicking on it, then click Add Field to create a new field within that tab.
2

Choose a field type

Select the type of input you need:
  • Text — Short text input
  • Long Text — Multi-line text area
  • Number — Numeric input
  • Date — Date picker
  • Yes/No — Toggle switch
  • Dropdown — Single selection from a list of options
  • Multi Select — Multiple selections from a list of options
3

Configure the field

Enter the field name and an optional description. Toggle Required if the field must be filled out during registration.
4

Add options for selection fields

For Dropdown and Multi Select fields, enter the available options separated by commas or newlines.

Tip

Use descriptive field names — families see these exactly as you type them during registration.

Organizing Fields

Drag fields within a tab to reorder them. Click the pencil icon to edit a field's name, type, or options. Click the trash icon to delete a field.

Warning

You cannot delete a field that already has responses from registered families. Remove the responses first or consider hiding the field instead.

Copying Fields from Another Event

1

Click Copy from Event

Click Copy from Event to import fields from a previous VBS event.
2

Select the source event

Choose a past VBS event from the dropdown. All tabs and fields from that event are copied over, automatically skipping any duplicates.

Tip

This is the fastest way to set up recurring VBS events — copy last year's fields and tweak as needed.

Permissions

Managing custom fields requires the events.manage .
