Connect Facebook and Instagram
One connection covers both networks: link your Facebook Page, and Instagram comes along if a professional account is attached to that Page.
Hubl posts through one connection: your church’s Facebook Page. There is no separate Instagram button. If an Instagram professional account is attached to that Page, Hubl finds it and Instagram becomes a choice everywhere you write a post.
Note
Before you start
- You need to be an admin of the Facebook Page on Facebook itself. A personal profile is not a Page, and Hubl cannot post to one.
- In Hubl you need the Manage integrations permission. This is not the same as Manage social media — someone who can write and schedule every post still cannot make or break this connection. See Permissions below.
- Social media is a Full Access feature.

Tip
Adding Instagram
Instagram publishing rides on the Page connection you just made, so there is nothing to connect in Hubl. What has to be true on Meta’s side is:
- the Instagram account is a professional account (Business or Creator), not a personal one, and
- it is linked to the same Facebook Page in your Meta settings.
When both are true, Instagram appears beside Facebook in the composer and on an event’s Promote page. When they are not, Instagram posts fail at the moment they try to publish, with a message saying no Instagram Business account is linked. Fix it in Meta, then use Change Page or reconnect so Hubl looks again.
Warning
Auto-post when you go live
The connected card carries one switch: Auto-post when live. With it on, starting a YouTube broadcast publishes a short “We’re live!” post with the watch link to your Page. It is on by default. Turning it off changes nothing else about scheduled posting.
When the connection stops working
Hubl re-checks the connection each time the Integrations page loads. A red Needs reconnection badge with a line of red text means the token is no longer valid — usually because someone removed Hubl from the Page’s apps, or your own admin access to the Page changed. Click Connect again and re-approve; you do not lose scheduled posts.
What to do about posts that failed while it was broken is in When a post fails or the account disconnects.
Disconnecting
Disconnect removes the stored access and stops Hubl posting to the Page. Anything already published on Facebook or Instagram stays up — Hubl cannot delete it. Posts still waiting in Hubl stay on the timeline and will fail when their time comes, so cancel them if you are disconnecting for good.
Permissions
Two different permissions are in play, and churches trip on this:
- Manage integrations — connect, change the Page, and disconnect. Without it, every button on this card is greyed out.
- Manage social media — write, schedule, and publish posts once a Page is connected.
