Live Streaming

Connect YouTube and Facebook for streaming

Connect the channel and Page once, choose which ones each broadcast goes to, and check the connection before Sunday rather than at Go Live.

Every broadcast goes to your church’s own watch page. YouTube and Facebook are optional extras: connect them once in Settings, then switch each one on or off per broadcast.

Note

Connecting accounts needs the Integrations permission to manage connections, which the Streaming Director role template includes. An A/V volunteer with only Go live can stream to a destination that is already connected, but cannot connect a new one.

What each platform requires

These are YouTube’s and Meta’s rules, not Hubl’s, and Hubl cannot get around them. Checked against their help centers on 22 September 2026.

  • YouTube: the channel must be verified and have had no live streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. Turning live streaming on for the first time can take up to 24 hours, so do this well before your first service.
  • Facebook: the Page must have at least 100 followers, the Facebook account of the person connecting it must be at least 60 days old, and that person needs access to create content on the Page.

Connect them

1

Open Integrations

Integrations. You see YouTube and Facebook Page, each marked Connected or Not Connected.
2

Connect YouTube

Choose Connect on YouTube and sign in with the Google account that owns your church’s channel.
3

Connect your Facebook Page

Choose Connect on Facebook Page and pick the Page. It is the same connection the Social Hub uses, so if you already post to Facebook from Hubl, it is done — see Connect Facebook and Instagram.

Choose where a broadcast goes

1

Open Stream settings

In the Control Room, choose the gear at the top right. Under Destinations, switch on YouTube Live, Facebook Live Video, or both. A destination that is not connected is greyed out, with a note saying so.
Destinations are chosen per broadcast. The watch page is always included.
2

Decide about the announcement post

Post ‘We’re live!’ to Facebook page publishes a short post on your Page when the stream starts. Turn it off if you would rather announce it yourself.
3

Save

The top bar then lists them after Streaming to, next to your Watch page.

Check the connection before Sunday

Tokens expire, and a Page admin can remove Hubl’s access without anyone noticing. The Control Room does not check this until you press Go live. By then the service is about to start, so check the connection earlier in the week.

1

Look at each connection's badge

On Integrations, read each card, not the summary at the top. A connection that has stopped working still says Connected, with Needs reconnection beside it and a line explaining why.

Warning

The summary sentence at the top of Integrations can read “Connections are healthy” even when a card underneath says Needs reconnection. Trust the card.
2

Reconnect if it needs it

Connect the platform again with the same account. Nothing about your streams needs to change.

If Go live is blocked

When a connection fails the check at Go live, a red banner names the platform, the reason, and gives a Reconnect YouTube or Reconnect Facebook button. Either reconnect, or switch that destination off in Stream settings and go live without it. Your watch page does not depend on either one. More in My stream is offline, frozen, or disconnected.
