Running Sunday Check-In
What a volunteer at the check-in desk does: find a family, check children into their rooms, and release them to the right adult.
Check-In has one search box and a list of rooms. Almost everything you do on a Sunday morning starts by typing a name into that box.
Checking a child in
Find the family
Tap Check in
Confirm the room and who dropped them off
Note
Releasing a child
This is the part that matters most. Open the room and tap Check out beside the child.
Check the child and the code
Pick the adult and check the photo
Include siblings if the same adult has them
Warning
Tip
Children leaving by bus or carpool
Choose Leaving another way and write down how they left. That note is the only record of where the child went, so write "Bus 3" rather than "bus". It is deliberately more work than releasing a child to a named adult.
When a parent has lost the pass
Send them to Check-In on your website; it is in the menu and the footer. Their phone number or email opens today's pass: each child, the room they are in, their claim code, and the QR you scan at release. Nothing to print and no email to dig up.
A parent who checked in from their own phone, or opened the pass on it once, also sees a green checked in badge in the site's floating menu until every child is released. Tapping it lists the children and their rooms, with a link to the pass.
Rooms
The rooms list shows how full each room is and who is assigned to it. Rooms you staff appear first. Open a room to see who is in it, what the leaders need to know about allergies and notes, and to check children in or out without leaving the page.
Note
Permissions
Checking children in and out needs the childcare permission, or an assignment to that specific room. Creating rooms, editing them, and assigning staff need the full childcare management permission.
