Planning Worship: Songs and Set Lists

The Worship section holds your church's song library and a set list for every worship service. Your worship team reads the set list on their phone or tablet, with each chart in the key you're playing it.

Adding songs to the library

Open Worship

From your admin dashboard, choose Worship in the sidebar, then Add song.

Paste the chart

Paste the chord chart the way you already have it. Chords written on the line above the words work, and so does ChordPro, where chords sit in brackets like [G]Amazing grace. Lines such as Verse 1 or [Chorus] start a new section. The preview shows how the band will see it.

Set the key

Choose the key the chart is written in. Hubl uses it to move the chart into any other key, and to show Nashville numbers.

Tip

Pasting a whole song into an empty chart fills in the title, authors, key, tempo, CCLI number and copyright wherever the paste includes them, and leaves the licensing footer out of the chart. Check what it filled in before saving.

Note

Add the CCLI song number if you have one. It appears on the song usage report, which lists every song you sang and how often, ready to copy into your CCLI report.

Planning a service

The Worship page lists the next six weeks of services. Choose one to open its set list. Find songs from the library, add items like the welcome or the sermon so the band knows where the songs fall, and set each song's key and who leads it. Save when you're done.

While you search, songs sung in the last two weeks are marked, and with nothing typed the list offers the songs that have gone longest without being sung. If last week's list is close to this week's, use Copy it to start from it.

Tip

If your worship team is scheduled for particular services, only those services show up. If it isn't scheduled anywhere yet, every worship service shows.

Letting the band know

When the list is saved, choose Let the band know. Everyone on the worship team who is scheduled for that service gets a notification with the songs and a link to the charts. If your church doesn't schedule the band, everyone on a worship team gets it. If you change the list afterward, the planner says so and you can send it again.

What your team sees

Everyone on a team with the Worship type can open the set lists at /worship on your church site. Each song shows its chart in the service key. Musicians can move a song up or down a half step, pick a capo, switch to Nashville numbers or lyrics only, and make the text bigger. Those choices stay on their own device and change nothing for anyone else.

Print gives one song per page in black and white, in the key each song is played in, with the running order on the first page.

Permissions

View the song library and set lists: open Worship in the admin and read everything there.
Edit songs and plan set lists: add and change songs and save set lists. The Worship Leader role template includes both.
